The Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University covers an area of 250,000 square meters, with a building area of 65,700 square meters and 550 beds. It has 38 clinical and medical departments, Daqing Maternal and Child Health Hospital and 6 community health service centers. Among the medical staff, there are 70 experts in charge of medical technology, 2 associate professors, and 28 well-known experts in the province. 1990 was renamed Daqing Dongfeng Hospital, and 1992 was renamed Daqing Seventh Hospital. In 2000, the hospital was newly built in Jianshe Road, Development Zone and renamed Daqing People's Hospital. On February 26th, 2005, Daqing Municipal Government signed an agreement with Harbin Medical University, taking Daqing People's Hospital as the fifth affiliated hospital of Harbin Medical University and keeping the name of Daqing People's Hospital.
