First of all, before sprouting in the next spring, we must untie the rootstock in time, remove the sprouting tillers to promote sprouting, and erase the long branches on the rootstock in time, leaving only one main bud branch with strong growth to save nutrients. Secondly, water and fertilizer management should be strengthened during the growing period. Generally, in the growing season, irrigation is carried out three times according to the situation, combined with irrigation, urea is applied in stages, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate/kloc-0 is sprayed every 20-30 days to meet the needs of seedling growth for nutrients. Finally, intertillage weeding, irrigation after rain or intertillage in time to prevent soil hardening. Artificial weeding can reduce the competition of weeds for water and nutrients as much as possible and avoid the harm of herbicides to young leaves of grass.
2. Management of transplanted seedlings
The transplanting of red-leaf plum is mainly in spring and autumn, especially in spring. The survival rate of bare-rooted seedlings in spring can also reach more than 90%. If it is planted out of season in hot summer or cold weather, it is necessary to bring clods. It is best to wrap non-woven fabrics, straw ropes and plastic bags outside the clods to ensure that the clods do not come loose. At present, there are some container seedlings propagated in nutrient pots in the seedling market. Container seedlings have a high survival rate and can be planted all year round. Keep the soil moist during planting. Fertilize for 2-3 times during the growth period, prune excessively long branches, and cut off excessively dense weak branches, diseased branches and dead branches to form a round crown.
3. Cutting seedling management
After cutting, the temperature in the shed shall not be lower than 5 degrees above zero. Open the insulation quilt or straw mat at about 9: 30 am on sunny days to increase the temperature and increase the light, and put down the cover to keep warm after 4 pm. Water again in mid-March, and properly ventilate the seedlings when the greenhouse temperature is high at noon. At the end of April, the plastic film was removed and the leaves were sprayed with 0.5% urea solution 1 time to enhance their growth. After that, apply NPK compound fertilizer 1 time every 45 days, water according to soil conditions, and stop fertilization before the end of August.
4, plastic pruning
The biggest feature of red-leaf plum is its fast growth rate and strong germination ability. The more frequent pruning, the greater the sprouting of its branches and the denser the plants. Therefore, hedgerows and grain patterns have become the most common application methods of red-leaf plum in greening in Northeast China. Practice has proved that a branch about 10cm long can sprout 3-4 branchlets after pruning, thus making the plant more dense and compact. In nursery production, topping should be done in time after grafting to keep the lower branches 20cm high. If the shoots are late, it is not easy to ensure that the shrubs are full from top to bottom. It is best to cut flat immediately after planting. Generally, pruning seedlings from 80- 100cm to 50-60cm can promote the survival and rapid growth of seedlings. Modeling balls should also be trimmed frequently to ensure full crown and bright leaves.
