Persimmon is a deciduous fruit tree with both fruits and dried fruits. Originated in southern China, it is widely distributed and has a long cultivation history. It is one of the important fruit trees with less investment, easy management and great income in agriculture in the north and south of China. The traditional production and cultivation form of persimmon in China is mainly fruit-grain intercropping, which is mainly cultivated in terraced fields, flat land and sloping land in hilly areas. There is basically no special soil, fertilizer and water management on the ground. Most of the crowns grow naturally without pruning. Adult trees are often tall, disordered in structure, with few holes and branches, and the generated parts move outward.

If there are extensive pruning measures, the regeneration of the branch group is completed by the way of harvesting habits of branches when fruits are harvested. Although the yield of this big fruit-bearing tree, which only depends on collecting broken branches to regenerate mother branches, is considerable, its fruit is unstable, and the "big year" is more serious. There are few fruits in small years, and the inconvenience of harvesting in big years leads to more rotten fruits, which is not efficient. If we can attach importance to scientific pruning techniques in the future, the yield and quality of persimmons will be greatly improved and the fruit life will be significantly prolonged.
