How to prune osmanthus?
Natural osmanthus fragrans branches are mostly medium and short branches, with 4 ~ 8 pairs of leaves at the top and inflorescences at the lower part. 4 ~ 6 short and medium branches often grow at the top of branches, and 2 ~ 4 flower branches at the top can be cut off every year, and the lower 2 branches can be kept, so that 4 ~ 12 short and medium branches can grow in the future, and the crown still extends outward. Every year, the dead branches and overlapping short branches in the crown are thinned to facilitate ventilation and light transmission. For long main branches or lateral branches, find the strong branches at the back to shrink, cut and rejuvenate. After flowering, the crowded branches are usually cut off, and it will be fine by March. Avoid pruning in summer.
