Why is the elephant's nose so long?
Like the elongated nose, it also has its historical reasons. The ancestors of elephants had short and thick heads and long and heavy teeth. It's too difficult to keep your head down like this, and it's not convenient to turn around. Because the elephant's body is particularly huge, its limbs look like thick cylinders and its flexibility is not enough. In order to make up for these inconveniences, we have to lengthen the nose and move freely through muscle contraction, so that it has three functions: hand, lip and nose.
