How to draw a hysteresis curve using excel

You need to use the BMP2DATA tool to do it, and excel cannot make it;

1. Before importing the picture, you must "beautify" the picture:

a. "Whitening" - delete all black points (except the coordinate axis) outside the hysteresis curve, leaving only a white background;

b. "Tie colored silk" - use colors different from the hysteresis curve Trace the big "cross" (coordinate axis) in the middle with a straight line (the rectangular frame of the original picture (if any) can be deleted - in fact, I think this cross is not necessary, because the program only needs the four vertices of the "cross" ; Remove these relatively light lines);

The above operation can be done by using the "Draw" tool that comes with Windows.

In short, the final effect to be achieved is as shown in the picture:

a. There are only three colors - black (hysteresis curve is usually black), white (picture background) and red (The cross in the middle can of course be in colors other than black and white);

b. There are only three things - hysteresis curve, coordinate axis and background (this seems to be nonsense).

Example: The original picture is as follows: Figure 1 Original hysteresis curve (from PDF document)

After "beautification" it becomes like this: Figure 2 "Beauty" The final hysteresis curve

The final graph drawn with Origin is as follows: Figure 3 Hysteresis curve created in Origin

2. "Capture boundary points" in the software When capturing, please pay attention to the following:

a. Capture in the order of "left, right, up and down";

Specifically, it is to:

Capture the horizontal axis first The leftmost point (corresponding to the minimum value on the x-axis)?→ Then the rightmost point on the horizontal axis (corresponding to the maximum value on the x-axis)?→ Then the topmost point on the vertical axis (corresponding to the maximum value on the y-axis)?→ Finally, there is the lowest point on the vertical axis (corresponding to the minimum value of the y-axis).

b. Slowly aim at the boundary point, and then click again - I know this is a bit difficult, but please try to click as accurately as possible!

3. Please note when drawing: If you draw in excel, you should select "Scatter chart with data markers only" in "Scatter Chart" (see the option circled in red in the picture below) ), rather than others; Figure 4 Things to note when drawing in Excel. If drawing in Origin, you should select "scatter" (see the part enclosed by the red box in the figure below); as shown in the figure below :

Figure 5 What should you pay attention to when drawing in Origin?

4. Possible problems and countermeasures in the drawn pictures

a.?Some Not a point on the hysteresis curve? ——It means that the “whitening” part of your “beauty” work is not done enough! Keep rubbing it! Wipe the background of the picture to be white, clean and beautiful... (OK, stop!)

b.? Is there a discontinuity in the hysteresis curve? ——It means that the "eyebrow painting" part of your "beauty" work is still lacking! This causes bmp2data to ignore the parts of the curve that are lighter in color or covered by the coordinate axis! Keep tracing! My pretty girl, how did you get here? ——It’s traced! (Okay, I said it again...)

5. A small bug: the data file "RESULT.CSV" generated by the software is not as stated in the help written by Dr. Chen That means "in the directory where the program is located", but in the directory where the bmp image is located.

6. A little suggestion: As mentioned above, there are operational difficulties when capturing boundary points: you have to move the mouse little by little and stare closely at a small dot on the screen—— This taste is so unpleasant! Therefore, if the program can automatically capture the cursor when capturing boundary points, or can operate it through the keyboard arrow keys - you can easily and accurately obtain the boundary points!
