The forming tool can be used as a die for bending, stretching or forming sheet metal to generate some forming features, such as shutters, spears, flanges and ribs. The usage is as follows:
1. Expand the design library
If there is no shaded ① pane as shown in Figure A, please execute "View → Task Pane" and check the front of the task pane.
2. My software has no default molding tool library. The adding method is as follows:
The default molding tool library is in c:\Documents? and? Settings\All? Users\Application? Data\SolidWorks\SolidWorks? < Version > \design? library\forming? Tools\, click the shadow ② in figure A to add the default library, as shown in figure B.
3. A very important step, as shown in Figure B, right-click ③ and click ④ "Molding Tool Folder" to set this folder as the molding tool folder. (This step can also set the subfolder as the folder of molding tools)
4. Expand the folder of molding tools (under counter? sink? Emboss, for example) as shown in figure c, the counter? sink? Emboss is dragged from the design library to the board. You can press Tab before releasing it. Key to change the direction. After releasing it, as shown in Figure D, click "Finish", and then edit the sketch of ⑤ in D to place the molding feature in the ideal position.
5. Attachment: You can also make your own forming tool. Simply put, make features, insert → sheet metal → forming tool, and define the stop surface and the surface to be removed. Save it in the "Molding Tool Folder".
