Wuling District Changde Wuling, located in the northwest of Hunan Province, is an ancient historical and cultural city and a bright pearl embedded in Dongting Lake. It has been more than 2,280 years since Zhang Ruo, the guardian of Shuqin County, built the city here, known as Zhangruocheng in history. It is not only the transportation hub of ancient north and south, but also the transportation artery that goes back to eastern Guizhou and commands Jiangsu and Anhui. Known as "the lips and teeth of Jingchu" and "the throat of Yunnan and Guizhou", it is also the gateway for feudal rulers of past dynasties to develop the southwest, and it is also the famous "land of plenty" in the south of the Yangtze River. 1In August, 949, Changde Wuling established Changde City at the county level to administer Changde City. 1June, 988, county-level cities were abolished and Wuling District was established. After the withdrawal of the urban construction area, Wuling District, relying on the city, made full use of the unique geographical advantages such as rich surrounding resources, fertile land, rich products, convenient transportation, developed communication and strong economic foundation, and developed into the largest city in northwest Hunan and the political, economic and cultural center of Changde.
Wuling District covers a total area of 269.5 square kilometers, including 28 square kilometers in the urban area.
Wuling District, located in the lower reaches of Yuanshui River, belongs to subtropical monsoon humid climate zone, with annual average temperature 16.5℃- 17.5℃, annual rainfall 1400 mm, long sunshine time, frost-free period of more than 256 days and annual average relative humidity of 68%-89%. The northeast wind blows in winter and the southeast wind blows in summer. Spring and autumn are the transitional seasons of monsoon, with northerly winds in the majority. Urban transportation is convenient, with 3 19 and 207 national highway running through the whole territory. The neighboring Taoyuan Airport has opened flights to major cities in China, and the opening of the Shichang-Changzhou Railway and the Changchang Expressway has strengthened the links between Wuling and major cities such as Changsha, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. After the completion of the Zhang Chang Expressway, which started this year, the distance from Wuling to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park will be shortened by half. Urban water supply, power supply and other infrastructure are complete, post and telecommunications networks are fully functional, roads are criss-crossed, commercial squares, culture and entertainment are readily available, and residential areas are clean and tidy. Liuye Lake Resort in the suburbs is shrouded in mist, with lush trees in River Forest Park, and the famous Xanadu Peach Blossom Garden and Jiashan Temple in Yu Xiu, Zhong Ling are also close at hand, making it a good place for urban residents to relax and spend their holidays.

From 2065438 to March 2009, Wuling District was included in the list of the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization counties (western Hunan and Hubei).
