The Witch of the Wilderness is a character in Miyazaki Hayao's animated film The Moving Castle of Hal. The witch of the wilderness was once a great magician, but she was lost in the temptation of evil because she made a deal with the devil, which led to her body and mind being swallowed up and became a misguided witch, but she didn't feel that she had done anything bad. She was driven to the wasteland fifty years ago. Being angry with Sophie because of Hal's escape is the chief culprit that makes Sophie an old man.

He is a magician who can only cast spells but can't break them. Later, Mrs. Salman took away her magic and restored her old age. Her hobby seems to be a strong cigar. She has a high degree of paranoia about Hal's heart, sometimes her behavior is unreasonable, but she is harmless on the whole (after losing her magic), and she will give some necessary advice to young people when necessary.

The movie "Hal's Moving Castle" is adapted from the popular British children's novelist diana W jones's "Magic Made Javier and the Devil of Fire". This is another original work by Miyazaki Hayao after 1989 "The Witch's Home Delivery". This drama animation is set on the eve of the war and describes three sisters living in a small town. Sophie, the eldest sister, is a hat maker, but she has offended the witch, from a girl of 18 to a 90-year-old woman.

She fled home in horror, but entered a mobile castle with magic. She and Hal, who can't fall in love with others but know magic, wrote a war love song, trying to break the spell with others in the castle.
