The cost of birth check-up should be paid by maternity insurance, but not by basic medical insurance. The basic medical insurance covers the medical expenses for treatment due to illness, and the medical examination expenses are routine examinations during delivery and are not included in the reimbursement scope. The medical expenses paid by the basic medical insurance fund shall be directly settled by the social insurance agency, excluding the medical examination expenses. The medical insurance card cannot reimburse the medical examination expenses of private hospitals.
Services of private hospitals:
1, routine physical examination service;
2. Professional disease diagnosis;
3. Health consultation and management;
4. Beauty and plastic surgery services;
5. Rehabilitation services;
6. Characteristic medical services.
In addition to providing basic medical services, private hospitals may also provide a series of special services, such as professional diagnosis for specific diseases, personalized health management plans, cosmetic surgery and so on. These services are often set according to the characteristics and specialties of hospitals, aiming at meeting the needs of different patients. Rehabilitation services may include physical therapy and occupational therapy, while characteristic medical services may include Chinese medicine treatment and overseas medical consultation.
To sum up, the medical insurance card should not be used to reimburse the medical check-up expenses of private hospitals, because these expenses should be paid by maternity insurance, not basic medical insurance, which only covers the expenses of treatment due to illness, and the medical check-up is a routine check-up during delivery, which is not included.
