Tomato hybridization is as follows:
1. Tomato fruit early hybridization.
1. In the early stage of fruiting, try not to knock off all the forks of the tomatoes. A certain area of ??branches and leaves needs to be formed to promote root development and plant growth, and flower bud differentiation is also good. Because in the early stages of plants, the main purpose is to cultivate robust plants and promote flower bud differentiation. If the fork is cut too early, it will seriously limit the growth and development of the vegetables in the later period. For example, the first ear of the fruit is not long enough, and green-skinned fruits are prone to appear, and the plant will decline prematurely.
2. Don’t rush to apply the cross during the plant’s slow seedling and flowering stages. Above ground growth and root development must be promoted. After the fruit enters the rapid expansion stage, wipe off the fork in time.
3. Wait until the side branches grow to ten centimeters before springing. Leave 2 cm to prevent infection. Do not inject when the sun sets in the afternoon, and do not inject too early in the morning to prevent wound infection.
2. Tomato hybridization method
1. The main method is to pinch off all the buds at the top of the trunk when the height of the trunk is much different, so that it will not grow taller. Of course, for useless side branches and side branches that are tall enough, the terminal buds should also be pinched off.
2. Tomato single and double-head pruning method. That is, 1-2 heads are left on each plant, and all other branches are broken off when they reach 10cm. For early-maturing varieties (except self-capping varieties), 3-4 ears can be left, and for mid-late-maturing varieties, 6-10 ears can be left as needed. In this way, it will not grow anymore and the nutrients will be retained for flowering and fruiting.
3. Tomatoes should be selected according to variety, planting density, whether there is shelf cultivation, etc. In the case of limited growing varieties and frameless cultivation, when each plant grows to 30cm high, leave 2 to 3 branches, 2 leaves on the main branch until the third flower appears, and 2 leaves on the side branches after one flower.
4. If the varieties with unlimited growth are cultivated on supports, single pole shaping and double pole shaping are generally used. Single-rod shaping leaves only the main branch and removes all side branches, while double-rod shaping leaves one main branch and one side branch.
