Disassembly steps of Honda poetry steering gear
1. Remove the wheel trim cover.

2. When the wheel touches the ground, remove the fastening nut between the hub and the transmission shaft, and remove the wheel.

3. Remove the brake caliper and brake disc; Remove the brake hose bracket, and fix the brake caliper assembly to the vehicle body with iron wire. Be careful not to remove and damage the brake hose.

4. Remove the fastening bolt between the strut shell of the shock absorber and the hub.

5. Press out the tie rod joint from the strut housing of the shock absorber with the tensioner.

6. Remove the stabilizer bar and nut on the transmission shaft and hub from below the lower arm. Press down the swing arm of the front suspension and pull out the drive shaft from the wheel bearing. If you can't pull it out, you can press it out with a pressure device.

7. Remove the cover, press it on the lower part of the strut of the shock absorber, fix the strut with special tools, and remove the nut on the shock absorber. The shock absorber assembly with spring can be disassembled.

8. Disassemble the shock absorber assembly with spring, compress the spring, and slot the nut and nut cover with wrench and special tool.

Release the spring.

9. Clamp the steering knuckle arm with a vise. Remove the shock absorber retaining nut and pull out the front shock absorber.

Press out the hub bearing. Remove the brake disc, remove the fender, press out the hub, remove the retaining ring from the strut housing, press out the hub bearing towards the retaining ring, and pull out the bearing inner ring with the tensioner.

Take the disassembly of Jetta front suspension as an example

(1) Remove the wheel and steering knuckle.

1) Loosen the tire bolts.

2) Remove the wheel.

3) Remove the front brake.

4) Separate the steering knuckle from the front shock absorber.

5) Remove the steering knuckle.

(2) Decomposition of steering knuckle

1) Remove the bearing inner ring from the wheel.

3) Disassembly of the outer constant velocity joint: mark before disassembling the outer constant velocity joint and the steel ball, remove the outer constant velocity joint holder and the ball bolt, and separate the outer constant velocity joint holder and the ball bolt.

4) Disassembly of the internal constant velocity joint: remove the steel ball of the internal constant velocity joint, and remove the internal constant velocity joint.

Installation of Jetta Automobile Front Suspension

Install in the reverse order of disassembly, but the following items must be noted:

Installation of sub-frame, transverse stabilizer and trapezoidal arm: assemble front bushing of trapezoidal arm, assemble rear bushing of trapezoidal arm, install sub-frame, trapezoidal arm and lower ball hinge, and install transverse stabilizer.

Assembly of steering knuckle and wheel: Install steering knuckle bearing.

Installation of steering knuckle and front shock absorber: assembly of steering knuckle and front shock absorber, installation of steering knuckle and trapezoidal arm, and installation of front shock absorber.

Assembly of universal joint:

Assembly of outer constant velocity universal joint.

Assembly of internal constant velocity universal joint: installation ball, steel ball, protective frame and cage. Assembly of cardan shaft: assembly of outer constant velocity joint and its periphery, installation of shock absorber, assembly of inner constant velocity joint and cardan shaft, and installation of inner constant velocity joint protective cover. Install the cardan shaft: install the cardan shaft and the driving flange of the main reducer, install the cardan shaft and the wheel, and check the wheel bearing clearance.

Install the wheel: Install the brake caliper and brake disc, and install the wheel.

2) Connect the rear axle body and the rear shock absorber.

(3) Install the short shaft and bearing

1) Install the roller cone bearing outer ring on the brake drum outer ring.

2) Install the outer ring of the tapered roller bearing into the inner ring of the brake drum.

3) Install the brake drum oil seal.

4) Install the stub shaft

5) Install the brake drum

6) Adjust the pre-tightening force like a load-bearing wheel.

7) Install the locking Yuhuan cotter pin.

8) Install the grease cover.

(4) Check the positioning angle of Jetta rear wheel.

1) Check the camber of the rear wheel.

2) Check the rear wheel toe-in.

Matters needing attention in disassembly and assembly of automobile suspension

(1) The front suspension assembly cannot be welded and repaired.

(2) The self-locking nut must be replaced with a new one.

(3) The tightening torque of nuts or bolts should comply with the regulations.

(4) The hub bearing should be coated with grease before pressing in, and the opening position of the two retaining rings is 180.

(5) For hydraulic steering, apply 5mm-wide sealant on the spline of the transmission shaft, and drive after 60min.
