Academician Chen Zuyu was transferred to Beijing China Rehabilitation Research Center for rehabilitation treatment on June 20 10. Academician Chen Zuyu was 67 years old when he was admitted to hospital. He also actively participated in water conservancy and hydropower projects from his hospital bed, and completed the consulting project report of Chinese Academy of Sciences-Digitization and Informatization of Major Engineering Data in China.

As an "academic patient", Chen Zuyu also made a "urination diary" and drew a chart to analyze the variance of the output. In his view, "rehabilitation is a very important branch of medicine, but it has not received enough attention now."
