Nankang City is located in the south of Jiangxi Province, and it is named after "the land is connected with Lingnan, and the people live and work in peace and contentment". In ancient times, it was called "Ye Nan" and "Nan 'an". In the first year of Jin Taikang (AD 280), a county was established. With a total area of 1.80 square kilometers, it administers 19 townships and 2 sub-district offices with a total population of nearly 800,000. Urban area 14 km2, urban population130,000. 1In March, 1995, it was approved by the State Council to withdraw from the county and set up a city. There are five main tributaries: Yanxi Water, Shaxi Water, Longhua River, Mulin Water and Qiaotou Water. Longmushui belongs to Suichuan water system, originates from Xiaodong, flows through Zhang Cun, Qutan and Ruikeng, and flows into Jinshi River in Suichuan, with a territory of13.5km and a drainage area of 43.8km2.. Meiyuan Water is located in Pumice Town, southwest of China.

Nankang has a subtropical monsoon humid climate, with an annual average temperature of 19.3℃, no severe cold in winter, no intense heat in summer and abundant rainfall.

Nankang has pillar industries such as furniture, clothing, electronics and tungsten mine, among which furniture is the most famous and the furniture industry ranks fourth in the country.
