Why carve seedlings?
Nursery seedlings need at least a few years, such as some kinds of flowering shrubs. It takes more than ten years or even decades. Generally, seedlings under three or four years old don't need shaping, and they are pruned less. In order to save nutrients, flowers or inflorescences are usually cut off. Big seedlings over three or four years old need shaping and pruning. The main purpose is to cultivate large seedlings with a certain tree structure and shape. Some big seedlings or potted seedlings need to be cultivated into big seedlings with flowers or fruits. In order to meet these requirements, seedlings must be shaped and pruned.

First, the significance of seedling pruning:

The ideal tree with plump, complete, symmetrical, compact, strong and beautiful trunk and lateral branches can be cultivated through shaping and pruning.

Plastic pruning can improve the ventilation and light transmission conditions of seedlings and reduce pests and diseases.

Plastic pruning will make plants shorter.

Second, the time and method of seedling pruning:

Pruning cycle:

According to the growth and dormancy of seedlings, it can be divided into growth pruning and dormancy pruning, some of which are called summer pruning and winter pruning. The summer cutting period is from April to 10, and the winter cutting period is from 10 to April. What is not obvious in the south is called summer scissors. Different trees and tree species have different biological characteristics, especially different phenology, so the specific pruning time of a tree species should be determined according to its phenology, bleeding, cold and freezing injury. Generally, deciduous trees are suitable for cutting in winter, and those with severe bleeding should be cut early or after bleeding. Evergreen trees are suitable for both winter cutting and summer cutting.
