The original name of Zhongyuan Institute of Technology is not "China Atomic Bomb Engineering Institute".

The school was founded in 1955, formerly known as Zhengzhou Textile Vocational and Technical College, under the Ministry of Textile Industry of People's Republic of China (PRC). 1998 was placed under the management of Henan Province, and was renamed Zhongyuan Institute of Technology in 2000.

Adhering to the goal of "promoting the construction of high-level universities with internationalization", the school actively serves the national "Belt and Road" construction, implements the strategy of opening up and running schools with life, and has successively carried out international cooperation and exchanges with 55 educational institutions in 24 countries and regions, including Russia, Italy, Thailand, Britain, Germany, the United States and Taiwan Province Province.

Our school is one of the earliest universities in Henan to carry out Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools. Since 2002, our school has cooperated with the top 100 universities in the world, such as University of Manchester, City University of Manchester, and National Institute of Technology of New Zealand, and held 9 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects at undergraduate and specialist levels, including textile engineering, fashion design and architectural engineering.

In 20 17, the Sino-foreign cooperative education institution of Zhongyuan Institute of Technology, a non-independent legal person jointly applied by the school and St. Petersburg National University of Aerospace Instrument Manufacturing in the Russian Federation, was approved by the Ministry of Education, and three majors of electrical engineering and automation, measurement and control technology and instruments, and software engineering began to enroll students.
