Shao Xi's Yun Zhi in the Southern Song Dynasty recorded that Yongding Temple was located in Zhou Pu Village, which shows that a considerable number of temples had been built in Zhou Pu more than 800 years ago. Officially known as "Zhou Pu Town", it began in the Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty, and the words "Zhou Pu Town" have been marked on the map of Hongzhi Shanghai County Records. After the county was established, Zhou Pu Town has been one of the important market towns in the county. When local autonomy was implemented in the early years of the Republic of China, there was a "City Council" in Zhou Pu. 1927, "Zhou Pu City Administration Bureau" was established. 1May, 949, after the liberation of this county, Zhou Pu City was once established. Culture and education have always been more developed than other parts of the county. Chu Yong, a famous poet in the Song Dynasty, once lived here, and never lived with each other.
