The Central Academy of Drama is the first drama education institution of higher learning in New China, directly under the Ministry of Education, the highest institution of drama, film and television art education in China, a "double-class" construction institution determined by the state, the headquarters of the China Higher Drama Education Alliance, the headquarters of the Asian Drama Education Research Center and the secretariat of the World Drama Education Alliance, and a world-famous art institution.

The Central Academy of Drama has two campuses, Dongcheng Campus is located at No.39 Dongmianhua Hutong, Dongcheng District, Beijing, and Changping Campus is located at No.4 Hongfu Middle Road, Changping District, Beijing. The total area of the two campuses is about 230,000 square meters, and the construction area is about 6.5438+0.8 million square meters.

The undergraduate majors of the Central Academy of Drama include: performance major, Quyi major, drama film and television director major, drama film and television art design major, recording arts major, drama film and television literature major, drama science major, drama education major, broadcasting and hosting art major and so on.
The college has a first-class discipline authorized by doctors and masters in drama, film and television art theory. The college has a postdoctoral research mobile station.

The Central Academy of Drama has the only national teaching team in the performance field, the only national professional construction site in the direction field, the only innovative experimental area of national talent training mode in music performance teaching, and the only experimental teaching demonstration center in drama, film and television.
