Give the blitzkrieg theory a few points!

Blink Poland (1939 September 1)

Poland is located in the east of Europe, bordering the Soviet Union in the east, Germany in the west, Czechoslovakia in the south and the Baltic Sea in the north, which is of great strategic significance. After Hitler came to power, when talking with the Nazis about establishing a "Greater Germany" country, he proposed to occupy Poland in order to obtain a lot of resources and improve his strategic position. Poland is the most powerful military ally of Britain and France in Europe. Eliminating Poland can not only relieve the worries of attacking western Europe, but also serve as a springboard for invading the Soviet Union and establishing a forward base. So after Hitler annexed Austria and dismembered Czechoslovakia, he immediately pointed the finger at Poland, which was attacked on three sides.

After the Munich Conference, Germany repeatedly made territorial claims to Poland, demanding that the Polish government return the narrow strip leading to the Baltic Sea-the Danzig Corridor and the Danzig Free City near the sea, and build extra-territorial superhighways and double-track railways to connect Germany and East Prussia. In fact, Hitler's goal is not only to recapture the Danzig Corridor cut off according to the Treaty of Versailles, but to occupy the whole of Poland and seize the "living space of the East". The Polish government rejected Germany's request. In April 1939, Hitler issued a secret war preparation instruction, with a "white plan" to attack Poland, stipulating that the Germans should make all preparations before September 1 year.

On the eve of the attack, the Germans took 13 criminals out of the Oraninburg concentration camp in eastern Germany and placed them in a nearby school building, where they will stay until the time is right. The code name of this operation is "canned food", and those criminals have become "canned food" that can be eaten at any time. The whole operation is divided into two stages.

August 3 1 is the first stage. The prisoners were forced to wear Polish uniforms and injected with deadly drugs. They were taken to Hozilinder, about 10 miles west of the German-Polish border. In the nearby forest, these prisoners were shot. Their bodies were carefully arranged to look like they were killed when they first entered Germany. Foreign journalists and other witnesses were taken to the local scene to see the body as evidence. Later that day, the second phase of the military operation began. These "canned foods", that is, the remaining prisoners, were detained by Alfred Na Jewkes, a major in the SS Security Service, and other officials.

Go to the nearby town of Gravetz. The SS in civilian clothes rushed into the local radio station and occupied it. Some people, led by Na Jewkes, made inflammatory broadcasts in Polish, announcing that Poland was attacking Germany and calling on all Poles to give the Germans some color together.

At 4: 45 a.m. on September 1 65439, German bombers roared to Poland, targeting Polish troops, arsenals, airports, railways, roads and bridges. A few minutes later, Poles tasted the biggest sudden death and destruction in human history for the first time from the air. Tens of thousands of cannons were fired at the border, and shells rained down on the positions of the Polish army. After about 1 hour, the German ground forces launched an all-out attack from the north, west and southwest. At the same time, the German warship "Holstein", moored outside Danzig Port and disguised as a friendly visit, suddenly opened fire on the Bojun base. Polish troops were caught off guard, 500 first-line planes were blown up at the airport before taking off, countless artillery, cars and other trench were destroyed before retreating, transportation hubs and command centers were destroyed, and the troops were in chaos. The Germans took advantage of the situation and, under the leadership of armored troops and motorized troops, quickly broke through the Polish defense line from several major sections.

In the morning 10, Hitler excitedly announced to Congress that the imperial army had invaded Poland and Germany was at war. He declared, "From now on, I am only a soldier of the German Empire, and I am wearing this most sacred and precious military uniform for me. I will never take off this uniform before the final victory, or I will die. " Hitler's speech aroused waves of enthusiastic cheers from parliamentarians.

At 9: 00 am on September 3, Britain issued an ultimatum to Germany, demanding that Germany provide a truce guarantee before 1 1 in the morning, otherwise Britain would declare war on Germany. According to Himid, Hitler's translator, when Hitler received an ultimatum from Britain, he sat quietly. Goering turned to him and said, "If we lose this war, then God should forgive us." At noon, France also sent a similar ultimatum to Germany, and the deadline was 5 pm. Germany ignored the ultimatum of Britain and France. As a result, Britain and France declared war on Germany one after another, and the Second World War broke out in an all-round way. That night, Hitler moved his office from the Chancellor's Office in Berlin to the "Armenia" special train, inspected the front line by car, and handled the east-west war on the train.

After breaking through the Polish defense line, the Germans rushed to the hinterland of Poland at a speed of 50-60 kilometers per day. Reichenau's 10 army is the main force of the army group of Lunsted South Road, and Lister's 14 army is the right wing. Under the cover of the 8th Army of the left-wing Blascovi, it pushed the middle reaches of the Vistula River from the west and southwest. Bao Ke's North Road Army Group, with Kruger's fourth army as the main force, entered the "Polish Corridor" eastward, while Kucelle's third army went south from East Prussia to Warsaw and the Buge River behind Warsaw.

2 Blink Poland (1 939 September1)

This is an unprecedented mechanized unit in the history of human war. In this great March, guderian, the founder of German Armored Forces, successfully put his armored force theory into practice and led 19 Armored Forces to a brilliant victory.

Among the defeated Polish legions were the Pomorsk cavalry brigade, which tried to break through the German defense line in the Polish corridor and join the main force of the army in southeastern Poland. Incredibly for the Germans, these Polish cavalry attacked them with ancient tactics. Bo Jun appeared in the north on a tough horse. Officers wear white gloves and wield command knives, while trumpeters play bugles and spears shine in the sun. As described in the history textbook, the Bojun cavalry brigade formed its formation in the wild. After a scream, it waved a spear and rushed to the tank camp in guderian. Within a few minutes, these cavalry were completely annihilated in the smoke of gunfire, and the air echoed with solemn and stirring cries and the screams of war horses. The cavalry who were arrogant just now died everywhere at once. The surviving Polish army was captured and sent to a German prison camp. When they strode away, they couldn't help staring at the German tanks parked by the roadside with suspicion. Before the battle began, their commander told them that these tanks were all made of cardboard. Although the Polish cavalry brigade launched a bold and absurd attack, the German armored division still swept the Po River, and the Germans quickly went deep into the Polish countryside under the guidance of Blitzkrieg.

The German blitzkrieg attack completely put the Polish army in a passive position, which was the first time that Poles and the whole world tasted the "blitzkrieg".

For Poland's national defense forces, another defect is Poland's national characteristics. Poland is a multi-ethnic country, and the cohesion of the army is not high, so it is impossible to share the same enemy in the combat area, and the local people's enthusiasm for defending the country is not high. At least 302 people in Poland are not Polish. At least half of the people in Poland are ethnic minorities, including 2 million Germans, who are persecuted by the authorities in peacetime. Lithuanians in the northern provinces announced that they should establish an independent Republic of Lithuania with Vilnius as its capital. Farmers in the eastern provinces of Belarus and Ukraine are threatened by poverty and their living conditions in Europe are the worst. In the last few days of the German attack, when the retreating Polish troops passed through these areas at night, local Russian Orthodox farmers could be seen setting fire to the local Catholic church to vent their centuries-long hatred of the old Polish landlords. Although the Jews in Poland were afraid of Hitler for obvious reasons, they didn't like the Polish government because it treated them as second-class citizens. Germans in the western provinces recovered their memories and glory before 19 18 from this incident, hoping that the Nazi army would separate them from their neighbors in Poland and return to their hometown.

By September 7th, the South Road Army Group of Lunsted had severely damaged the two armies of the Polish army "Lodz" and "Krakow", and occupied the industrial center of Poland, Lodz and the second largest city, Krakow. Among them, Hopler's 16 Panzer Corps, the vanguard of the 10 Army, arrived in the southern suburbs of Warsaw on September 8, cutting off the retreat of the Polish army "Poznan" from the south. Bao Ke's North Road Army Group destroyed the Bojun Pomori Army Group, hit the Bojun Maodelin Army Group, occupied the Polish Corridor, then crossed the Vistula River and seized the position on the road from the north to Warsaw.

On September 8th, the 3rd Army of Kucelle and the 4th Army of Kruger, belonging to the North Road Army Group, launched a surprise attack in the general direction of Warsaw from the north and northwest. On September 6th, 1 1, guderian's 19 armored troops crossed the Narev River and began to advance rapidly to the Buge River behind Warsaw. 14 In September, Reich's Nau 10 Army and Blascovi's 8th Army, which belonged to the South Road Army Group, advanced to the west of the Vistula River, surrounded the Polish troops retreating from Poznan and Lodz, occupied central Poland and left Warsaw in a semi-enclosed state. By September 15, guderian's 19 Armored Corps surrounded Brest, and its 3rd Armored Division and 2nd Motorized Division continued to advance southward, so as to complete the final deep encirclement with the 14 Army of the South Road Army Group on the right. At the same time, the vanguard of the 14 Army, the 22nd Panzer Corps of Kleist, surrounded Kolwolf and then continued to advance northward. On 16, we joined forces with the North Road Army Group in FuHuo Da Wa area, and surrounded the retreating Bo Army in the triangle of Buge River, Sanghe River and Weiswa River. 17 In September, after the German army completed its siege of Warsaw, it ordered the Warsaw authorities to surrender within 12 hours. The Polish government and the high command of the Polish army fled across the border to Romania on 16.

Just as Poland began to disintegrate under the German attack, the Soviet government submitted a note to the Polish ambassador in Moscow on September 17, 2007, pointing out that in view of the established situation, the Soviet government had issued an order to the troops to cross the border to protect western Ukraine and western Belarus. On the same day, Molotov, a member of the People's Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union, delivered a radio speech, stating that the Soviet government could not sit idly by and watch the situation in Poland. In the early morning of this day, the Soviet army entered Poland in six ways and occupied the eastern part of Poland without great resistance. Captured more than 200,000 Polish troops and seized more than 300 planes and a large number of weapons. The captured Polish army had tens of thousands of officers, of whom about 6.5438+0.5 million were killed in the Katyn forest attached to Smolensk, which was the famous Katyn incident.

On September 25, the Germans began shelling fortresses, strongholds and important supply centers outside Warsaw. Subsequently, the German Eighth Army began to attack Warsaw. On September 26th, the German Air Force began bombing Warsaw. On September 27th, Warsaw defenders stopped resisting. On September 28th, Warsaw garrison commander formally signed the surrender letter to General Blaskovic, commander of the 8th German Army. On September 29th, Fort Maudlin surrendered. 6543810.2, the last city to resist, Gdynia, stopped resisting. The first battle after the outbreak of World War II ended in only one month. In the Bode War, the Polish army suffered 200,000 casualties and captured more than 400,000 people. The Germans were killed 1600, injured 33,000 and lost 3,400.

After Germany invaded Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany, and the Second World War officially broke out.

Blitzkrieg: A mode of war created by guderian-Blitzkrieg.

At the beginning of World War II, the blitzkrieg created by Nazi German militarists was extremely fierce and seemed invincible. It conquered Poland in 27 days, Denmark in 1 day, Norway in 23 days, Holland in 5 days, Belgium in 18 days, and France in 39 days ... Blitzkrieg was really brilliant for a while, and it was called the history of war. With the help of the latest high-tech weapons, Blitzkrieg suddenly and quickly achieved the goal of war with the least loss, and its theoretical charm remains undiminished. Studying the "information blitzkrieg" which may evolve from "information+blitzkrieg" will help us to guard against new blitzkrieg in future wars and find more chances to win in the battle.

Three Important Elements of Blitzkrieg

1 surprise attack

2 concentration

3 speed

Blitzkrieg was a tactic often used by Germans during World War II. It takes full advantage of the rapid advantages of aircraft and tanks to defeat the enemy by surprise. It often uses aircraft to violently bomb the communication center of the enemy's important strategic facilities, blow up the enemy's aircraft at the airport, gain air superiority and paralyze the enemy's command system.

Blitzkrieg is a combination of surprise attack and fast attack, which will strike the enemy like lightning! Can make the enemy lose morale under the sudden threat, so that it will collapse immediately under the first huge blow!

The theory of Blitzkrieg was invented by guderian and originally used in Poland. At 4: 45 on September 1939 and 1 Japan, the German army took its six armored divisions, four light armored divisions and four motorized divisions as the main assault forces, and tore open the defense line of about 800,000 people of six group armies of the Polish army in the west of Mapingchuan. The rapid and deep advance of German armored forces and air force quickly tore and surrounded the old and huge Polish army, and the Polish campaign ended on June 5, 10. The Polish army killed 66,000 people, injured 200,000 people and captured 694,000 people, while the Germans only suffered more than 30,000 casualties. Therefore, it entered the world military history with a successful brand-new tactic.

Stripping off the cloak of blitzkrieg aggression and analyzing blitzkrieg, we will find that it contains rich theories and flashes enlightenment that spans historical time and space.

"Fold" the space in the shortest time.

"Time is the army" and "Time is victory". Fighting for time and space is an important part of military confrontation. If you are one step ahead of the enemy in time, you can take advantage of this opportunity. In the "Barbarossa Plan", the Germans advanced 400 ~ 600 kilometers in the Soviet Union in only three weeks. The reasons for its success are:

(1) "Timely";

(2) Unexpected main attack position;

(3) deception;

(4) New tank "tactics".

(5) The army has superior air support.

German blitzkrieg applied the new advantages of military science and technology, relying on the rapid assault of tank clusters and the high-speed cooperation of aircraft air fire, deep landing and parachute landing, forming a powerful modern "Ram". Due to the change of space-time relationship, the new operational theory has produced unimaginable operational effectiveness.

Get the maximum impact by maneuvering as fast as possible.

An important idea of offensive warfare in Sun Tzu's Art of War is to surprise the enemy at an extremely fast speed. The book says: "If you can't defend yourself, you will be quick." And made a beautiful metaphor for the rapid impact: "the urgency is to stir up the water, but as for the drifters, the situation is also;" As for the disease of ostriches, as for those who are wiped out, it is also a festival. "

According to the theory of war mechanics, the combat effectiveness of an army depends on its strength, motive force and impact force, all of which are related to speed. The faster the speed, the greater the impact. The blitzkrieg at the beginning of World War II relied on the high-speed and deep raid of armored groups, and its influence was unprecedented in military history.

Turn spiritual strength into combat effectiveness.

In the theory of blitzkrieg, spirit plays a vital role in the victory of the battle. Its role is mainly reflected in the following two aspects. One is to take it by surprise. From clausewitz in the west to Mao Zedong in the east, many outstanding military strategists are very concerned about the suddenness of operations, pointing out that suddenness and surprise can make up for the shortage of troops. The second is shock. One of the operational plans of the US military in the Iraq war is called "Shock and awe" action. In fact, in the design of blitzkrieg, "shock and awe" is exactly what Hitler and guderian are pursuing. When Germany launched a blitzkrieg in World War II, the number of its tanks was far less than that of the British and French allied forces, and it was even called "the war of the poor". However, the "poor" defeated the rich. In the blitzkrieg on the western front, a large number of French troops were shocked and lost their fighting spirit, and the number of captured people was as high as 6.5438+0.5 million.

The key to dealing with blitzkrieg

Why did blitzkrieg produce great power at the beginning of World War II? Why did the blitzkrieg in World War II end in failure?

Clausewitz, a western "soldier saint", thinks in his theory of On War that "victory often and in most cases has a climax". This "vertex" mainly refers to the operation intensity and operation limit. Because of the existence of the apex, the attacking strong will gradually weaken after reaching the apex, and the defending weak will gradually become stronger as long as they pay attention to accumulating strength. Although the blitzkrieg has brought unprecedented impact because of its suddenness and high speed, after all, this impact has limits and peaks. The final outcome of a war depends not only on influence but also on many other factors. When the Germans went deep into the hinterland of the Soviet Union and arrived in Stalingrad, due to the injustice of the war (mainly the resistance caused by atrocities), harsh natural conditions, difficulties in logistics supply lines, especially the patriotic enthusiasm of Soviet soldiers and civilians, strong industrial capacity, correct strategic deployment, new military theory adapted to German tactical adjustment, troops gradually equipped with advanced weapons, and the support of the United States, Britain and China, the war of aggression against the Soviet Union reached its peak in Stalingrad.

After World War II, although there was no large-scale blitzkrieg like World War II, it can be seen everywhere in modern local wars. In particular, when modern warfare is inserted into the wings of information technology, the sudden blitzkrieg becomes even more terrible. Armed with computer technology, the motive force, firepower and protection of air power have far surpassed those of armored groups on the ground during World War II, showing many new advantages: speed and maneuverability make the ground defense forces almost unable to fight back; The perfect combination of long-range precision strike, firepower, force and quick maneuver has realized the efficiency of "moving like Lei Zhen", "beheading" and "shocking"; Under the influence of c4isr command, control, reconnaissance and other systems, the energy of air power has jumped unprecedentedly, forming a combat system integrating over-the-horizon attack and defense, and even playing a decisive role in the fate of war.

What needs to be vigilant is that the "peak of war" in modern warfare is difficult to use under high technology, and the "non-contact", "non-linearity" and "asymmetry" of war make the weak side have less and less room to "defeat the superior with the inferior". So where is the way out to prevent blitzkrieg? Only by speeding up the modernization and futurization of the new military, we must never lose to our opponents in military thinking, and go all out in the establishment system, weapons and equipment, education and training, can we form the advantage that our opponents dare not act rashly and give the enemy an advantage.

When Blitzkrieg is inserted with the wings of information, we need to insert the wings of information with military thinking, which is not only a change in the terminology labeled "information", but also a brand-new sharp and non-conservative philosophical mind, which requires a sense of crisis in times of peace, not a triumph. ★

But blitzkrieg depends on speed, and if it can't be solved successfully at one time, the consequences will be serious! Guderian (1888 ~ 1954) was the founder of German tank soldiers, an army general and a war criminal in World War II. Born in Colm, East Prussia. The service starts at 1908. 19 14 graduated from the military academy. During World War I, he served in the cavalry. Served in the national defense army after the war.

From 1922, he served in the Autobots and Tanks. In the early 1930s, he began to study the theory of tank warfare, and thought that tanks were the decisive weapons in strategy, and put forward the idea of concentrating on using tanks for combat. 1934 proposed to form three tank divisions, and he served as the commander of the second tank division. 1938 served as commander of the tank army. During Germany's annexation of Austria, the head of the command post drove straight into nearly 1000 km and arrived in Vienna within 48 hours. This action tested the actual combat ability of the tank soldiers, thus establishing his vanguard position among the German tank soldiers.

When the German army attacked Poland in September 1939, the German army took the tank troops under his command as the main force and used the blitzkrieg tactics to defeat Poland in just ten days. Because of this, he became a famous "lightning hero" and won the second-class iron cross medal awarded by Hitler.

1In May, 940, the German army began blitzkrieg in Western Europe. He also commanded his tank troops to move forward with the momentum of breaking bamboo, which enabled the German army to conquer the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and other Western European countries in less than two months, once again showing the power of tank blitzkrieg tactics.

In June, the Soviet-German war broke out. Although his tactics of tank blitzkrieg achieved some success at the beginning of the war, they soon met Nemesis and quickly declined. In February, 65438+, as the commander of the 2nd Army of German tanks, he was forced to order his troops to retreat when he participated in the battle of Moscow at the command post, so he was dismissed by Hitler and transferred back to the reserve army. 1In February, 943, after the defeat of Stalingrad, the German army was recalled as the director of the tank corps. He organized and developed the famous German Tiger and Leopard tanks, and produced a large number of equipment troops. However, at the Kursk tank conference, the Germans ended in a fiasco. He devoted all his efforts to the tactics of German tank blitzkrieg and finally went bankrupt completely.

1944 After Hitler was assassinated in July, he served as the chief of staff of the army, but in March 1945, he was dismissed from his post again due to battlefield defeat and transferred to the reserve. After the German surrender, guderian was captured by American troops and released soon. 1954 died of illness. Memoirs Tank Commander and Attention! Tanks! "and so on.

His other military achievement is the establishment and application of blitzkrieg tactical thought. Blitzkrieg, lightning, lightning, rapid and sudden, hence the name Blitzkrieg.

The core of blitzkrieg is to defeat the opponent before the opponent launches the main force and strategic resources. Its basic means is to concentrate a large number of highly mobile forces (mainly armored forces and air force) to carry out pre-emptive and powerful assaults, and then quickly penetrate into the enemy's depth to surround the enemy's main groups and annihilate them. In order to concentrate on using a large number of armored forces, guderian established an armored division. He believes that in the armored division, "unless all other support soldiers have the same speed and off-road ability as tanks, tanks will never be fully effective." This was especially valuable at that time. The characteristics of guderian's armored combat theory (German armored combat theory) are: tanks can only be used for attack, but not for defense; Tanks can only be used centrally and cannot be dispersed; Armored divisions can be used in the first echelon to make breakthroughs, and then develop in depth at high speed, never accommodating the attack speed of infantry. The above is just a theory, which is a little far from reality.

After the war broke out, the Germans basically used armored forces according to the pre-war point of view. Its basic characteristics in offensive operations are: on the terrain suitable for armored forces to maneuver, a large number of armored forces are used intensively at decisive time and place, and sudden attacks are carried out with the strong cooperation of the air force. After breaking through the opponent's tactical defense area, attack in depth at high speed to achieve the campaign goal in the shortest time. After the breakthrough, when developing in depth and winning, bypass the enemy's fortified areas; When the other side counterattacked, it was mostly supported by motorized infantry and artillery, and armored forces launched a surprise attack from the rear.

The original theory of Blitzkrieg came not from guderian, but from Britain and France. However, the German army supplemented and improved the relevant theories of Britain and France, and finally took the lead in putting them into practice in the war. Until 1943, Germans were still the biggest beneficiaries of this theory.

Guderian's thought of Blitzkrieg pays more attention to the theory of strategic paralysis, that is, if the enemy's front line of defense is broken by surprise attack, the enemy's command system will be paralyzed. The fierce offensive of the fast-moving troops caused great panic in the front and back of the enemy, which led to confusion in command and distraction of the army, which caused a heavy psychological blow to the opponent. Therefore, the purpose of guderian Blitzkrieg is to paralyze the enemy, and armor, speed and three-dimensional coordination are only its means.

It is not difficult to understand when combined with practical application. The Germans attacked France on May 1940. In the seven days from May 17, the entire southern front of the British and French allied forces was close to collapse. The French don't believe that the complicated terrain of Germany in France can repeat the miracle of attacking Poland, and they are still imagining the battle of the Marne River. The French General Staff was at a loss for this brand-new tactic, and so were the soldiers at the front. Guderian's thought has been thoroughly verified here.

Indeed, when faced with a defense system with shallow depth, long front and loose strategic reserve organization in the rear, the effectiveness of Blitzkrieg cannot be underestimated. The first assault and its after-effects emphasized by the Germans can exert the greatest effect. The armored divisions coming out before and after the breakthrough really don't have to care too much about the threat from the rear (the longest front of Devil's 7th Division is nearly 400km, but they have never felt too much actual pressure from the rear). In the case of absolute air superiority, the tactical support of the air force is also obvious. ) counterattack guderian department, finally repelled by the ancient collaborative air force, also Cheng Huan? In a word, Blitzkrieg was really perfect in the Battle of France.

The same theory as Blitzkrieg originated from Marshal tukhachevsky in 1930s, and attached great importance to the cooperation of various arms, but its application of armored forces was somewhat different from Blitzkrieg. Infantry is still the main body in depth. At the beginning of the attack, with the support of artillery, armored units and other arms, the infantry opened the breakthrough of the enemy position, and then began to invest in mechanized units to stabilize the breakthrough, expand the results, and go deep into the enemy defense line to divide and surround; At the same time, the strategic aviation attacked the strategic places behind the enemy lines, thus destroying its war potential. Ultimately achieve the goal of completely defeating the enemy.

The Soviet Union's theory of great depth was born soon, but at that time, the development level of tanks was limited, and the three major performances could not meet the strategic needs. Even so, the Soviet Red Army established the earliest mechanized troops according to this theory in 1932. However, the stubborn old-fashioned people still dismissed it, and the big cleaning that came soon finally put it on the shelf. It was not until 194 1 Germany launched a lightning attack on the Soviet Union that the chaotic Soviet Red Army was awakened and the theory of great depth was picked up again. 1943 After the Battle of Kursk, the German strategic initiative changed hands with the Soviet Union, and the domestic tank production in the Soviet Union was enough to provide armored troops needed for the "great depth theory". It was at this time that the great depth theory finally had the opportunity to practice.

Both large depth and blitzkrieg are mechanized cooperative mobile warfare theories, but in the early stage of the battle, the use of armored forces is still different. Blitzkrieg advocates its independent and centralized use, which can realize strategic suddenness and make the enemy unprepared as fast as lightning. The main emphasis is on the use of high mobility and rapid defense to psychologically deter the enemy and actually attack the enemy, thus achieving the purpose of paralysis. The depth is different. It still regards infantry as the main body of its first attack, and the role of other arms and armored units is to support it. After the breakthrough is opened, divide and surround the depth with armored forces. Their use of armored forces is relatively conservative, and there is a residual consciousness of tanks supporting infantry. In this way, it is difficult to form a thunderbolt against the enemy at the beginning of the war, unless we have obvious military advantages (at least local advantages in the battlefield), but this idea really conforms to the actual situation of the Soviet Union after 1943, which is also called tailor-made.

Supplement: When it comes to the theory of deep-seated mobile warfare, we can't help but mention tukhachevsky, the representative of the Soviet pedant who advocated this idea. In the year before Stalin's murder, he concentrated on the basic ideas of the new operational thought. He pointed out that with armored forces and aviation, not only can we directly attack the enemy in the frontier defense, but we can also attack the enemy through the enemy's defensive positions at the same time throughout the defense depth. He believes that a single campaign is not enough to destroy the enemy, and it must be effective through many consecutive campaigns. Therefore, he suggested that in a single strategic direction, choose a certain depth range and organize many battles almost continuously. This will make it impossible for the enemy to replenish rest, adjust deployment and move forward reserves, thus ultimately achieving the goal of annihilating the enemy's main force in this direction. Based on this idea, in 1932, the Soviet army set up the mechanized army (renamed as the tank army in 1938) as a deep combat assault force, which was earlier than any other country and equipped with a large number of armored vehicles with good mobility. But all this was almost washed away by the crazy wave of cleansing. 1938, the idea of deep combat was widely suspected and the tank army was abolished. The sharp contrast between the results of the two wars launched by the Soviet Union in the late 1930s and early 1940s also illustrates this problem.

In the concrete application, the Soviet army is different from the tanks scattered by the French infantry, and it is also different from the German army that never gives in to the infantry. Soviet troops adopted the golden mean, that is, on the premise of not denying the role of tanks in supporting infantry, they recognized the independent combat capability of armored forces. In offensive operations, Soviet troops divided armored forces into "close combat" and "long-range combat". Melee, that is, tanks that directly support infantry to make breakthroughs, are mostly directly incorporated into tank regiments (brigades) of infantry divisions. Long-range fighter, that is, a fast cluster composed of tank troops (group army). Used for development and victory after the breakthrough. There are two important concepts "breakthrough theory" and "fast cluster".

Personally, I think that the initial breakthrough of great depth emphasizes the infantry as the center, and other arms, including armored forces, are only for support, so the role of tanks is limited and the attack rhythm is greatly slowed down.

The potential conservatism of the theory of great depth virtually defines it as Qiang Bing strategy, and only the advantage in quantity can guarantee victory. If the enemy and I are evenly matched and the enemy commander is well educated, it is difficult to predict whether the attack will succeed.

The Germans successfully attacked France on 1940. If the attacking party is replaced by the Soviet army, and it is assumed that the Soviet army is still implementing the theory of great depth at that time, even if the Soviet army wins the final victory, it will cost more and take longer.
