The core feature of mascots is affinity, which sets off the atmosphere of the stadium in the form of characters or life images. In Zhang Wen's view, mascots are actually messengers of cultural communication, which can not only represent the image of a city or a country, but also reflect the spirit of competitive sports.
At the same time, mascots also carry our good wishes to the world and eventually become a beautiful cultural memory of the city.
The revision of the design sample lasted for half a year.
"The design process of the whole mascot is quite long." On April 20 19, the Organizing Committee of Hangzhou Asian Games solicited mascot designs from all over the world. In July of that year, after the team submitted the first draft, it entered the top ten in the initial evaluation in June of 20 10, and then began a long revision until the "mascot global conference" in April 2020.
The organizing committee has always received nearly 4,600 manuscripts. "We are lucky to be confirmed as the final draft." Zhang Wen said that the whole revision process has gone through half a year. "There have been 6 major revisions and 20 minor revisions, basically once every two weeks." In this process, the team should constantly communicate with experts, scholars and related athletes and make adjustments according to the opinions of some children.
"Chen Chen", "Congcong" and "Lianlian" are a group of fish-shaped intelligent robots with profound cultural heritage and full of vitality of the times. This group is called "Jiang Nanyi" and is also affectionately called "Three Kittens".
Talking about design inspiration, Zhang Wen introduced that the mascots of the Asian Games need to reflect the image of a city or even a country, which reminds them of Hangzhou's three world heritages. The West Lake, Canal Square and Liangzhu Museum are also places where he and his wife often take their children to play. These landmarks not only show the rich cultural heritage of Hangzhou, but also mark their lives. The combination name "Jiang Nanyi" is taken from Bai Juyi's famous sentence "Jiang Nanyi, the most unforgettable thing is Hangzhou".
All three mascots have different personalities:
The design of the three mascots contains many small ideas and is endowed with different personalities.
"The design of the C-position' Cong Cong' was inspired by the Jade Cong in Liangzhu, and also used the elements of the animal face pattern and fish scale pattern of the God-man. In terms of color, we chose the pumpkin yellow unique to Jade Cong. " Zhang Wen said, "Congcong is an image full of power, which comes from our cultural confidence, because the site of Liangzhu ancient city is a sacred place to prove China's 5,000-year civilization."
Lotus, with a lotus leaf on its head and a green body, comes from the West Lake and symbolizes the natural ecological civilization of Hangzhou. With smiling eyes, it has the aesthetic feeling of Jiangnan charm, and the interwoven lines on the lotus leaf symbolize the interconnection of everything.
The design of "Chen Chen" is inspired by Chen Gong Bridge, and its hairstyle looks like Qian Jiangchao, which represents the spirit of innovation and exploration. The pattern on the forehead is shaped by Chen Gong Bridge, and the three bridge opening are also three artificial intelligence cameras, which is the humanized expression of the intelligent Asian Games. "In ancient times, people who traveled along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal by boat knew that they had arrived in Hangzhou as long as they saw the Chen Gong Bridge. Inspired by the Chen Gong Bridge, they also welcome friends from all corners of the country to Hangzhou. " Zhang Wen said.
The 665,438+0 event in Hangzhou Asian Games was also related to "Three Birds". "Congcong" stands for strength and is good at strength and traditional events, such as weightlifting and martial arts. "Lotus" stands for technical and water sports, such as rhythmic gymnastics and swimming; Chen Chen stands for speed events and ball events.
