On the first day we met, I thought they were too arrogant to talk to us about it. It's always worrying that they can't find anyone at any time. We are mainly responsible for their meals and shooting local problems. However, at first, they thought we would reveal their shooting plans, and they didn't want us to participate. It gradually became clear that we were not like that, so we took a step closer.
Judging from the days we spent together, I think they are very interested in our tableware, especially chopsticks. Because we all know that they don't use chopsticks, but only knives and forks. So I'm particularly curious. We volunteers eat with them. They want to learn how to use chopsticks. So several of us have been teaching them how to use them. After eating for a few days, they can also use chopsticks, and they use chopsticks every time they eat.
Secondly, there was a sugar-coated gourd at the gate of our school at that time. At first, we didn't know they liked it, because we saw one of the girls standing there during the filming. I've been watching candied haws, and it's quiet. Then we were going to interview them in the evening, so we brought a few strings. I didn't expect them to be very happy. A few people ate them all in a short time, and then they said they liked them very much. They are delicious. They wanted to eat it at that time, but they didn't buy it, so we took it back.
In fact, they especially like some traditional things in China, such as Chinese knots. When they were filming in China, they also went to places where Chinese knots were sold to see how Chinese knots were made. However, due to limited time, they didn't come. When they left, several of us bought them Chinese knots and paper-cuts as a souvenir.
They are interested in Beijing opera, but for me, I know little about it, basically nothing. But when they went out to play, they asked us if there was any Peking Opera here, and let us take them there. There is a theater near our school, but there are generally no people who sing Beijing opera. They just sing regularly, and then we took them to visit the theater, as well as some costumes and musical instruments of Beijing Opera.
They also like hot pot in China, and they have been wanting to eat it since they came here. Then several of us waited for work and invited them to a hot pot restaurant to feel the charm of hot pot. Their chopsticks are no different from ours now.
