The first half of 2009 will be the most difficult period for the industry, and domestic demand will face the risk of decline. Because China's economic growth rate dropped significantly in the third quarter, there is also the risk that the economic recession will lead to a decline in domestic demand for clothing. According to the statistics of WIND's consumer confidence index, the consumer confidence in China also declined month by month in 2008. As China has a large population, with the improvement of people's living standards, the domestic demand for clothing will greatly increase. From 2005 to 2007, the expenditure of urban and rural residents in China increased by double digits. Since 2005, domestic clothing retail sales have also maintained a double-digit growth, reaching 35% in 2005, and maintaining a growth rate of 16% in 2006 and 2007. Perhaps this economic crisis will slow down or reduce domestic clothing consumption, but in the long run, there is still a lot of room for development in the domestic market. China's clothing enterprises can only enter the international market if they first base themselves on the domestic market and accumulate some experience in domestic brand management.
