Anyone who has studied the modern history of China knows that Emperor Guangxu's favorite concubine Zhen Fei was later killed by Empress Dowager Cixi. There were two concubines after Guangxu, and there were many maids in the palace. Why do you prefer Zhen Fei alone? Is it because she is particularly beautiful? See what Zhenfei looks like from the existing photos. Princess Tatar, nicknamed Pearl, was born in the second year of Guangxu. In October of the 14th year of Guangxu, when Empress Dowager Cixi presided over the selection of concubines for Guangxu, she and her half-sister were both selected as Jin and Zhen. At that time, she was only thirteen years old and her sister Jin was fifteen. Six years later. The two sisters were promoted to princesses at the same time, that is, today's Jin Fei and Zhen Fei. When she was young, she hired Wen, the second scholar in the 16th year of Guangxu Imperial Examination, as a school teacher to study poetry and calligraphy. After she became an official, she studied painting with a painter in the palace. At that time, western photography technology had been introduced to China, and the Qing Palace was naturally the first to be popularized. At that time, many people thought that the camera was a smart thing, which would kill people's souls and lead to people's lives. However, Zhenfei is willing to accept new things. She quietly bought a camera and practiced it repeatedly in her bedroom in Ren Jing Palace. She soon learned the photography technique and became one of the earliest photographers among the Empresses of the Qing Dynasty. After learning photography skills, Princess Zhen took photos of Emperor Guangxu and others in the palace and taught eunuchs how to take photos with them. At present, although there is no photo of Zhen Fei in the Qing Dynasty photos collected by the Palace Museum and the First Historical Archives of China, there is a bust of Zhen Fei in the palace in the southeast of the Forbidden City, which is the only existing photo of Zhen Fei and is precious. In the photo, Princess Zhen has a round face, a slightly pointed chin, big eyes, two curved eyebrows trimmed into mountain eyebrows, a wide nose, a garlic nose and a small cherry mouth. She kept the "double-headed" hairstyle popular among Manchu women in the late Qing Dynasty, with jade flowers on it, two silk butterflies pinned to the left and right, a silk spike in the right corner and a long-edged robe. As can be seen from the photos, Zhenfei is lively and full of vigor. The portrait of Princess Zhen preserved in Huang Bi has the words "Portrait of Princess Zhen". According to experts' research, "true imperial concubine" is a true princess. In the second year after her murder, Cixi and Guangxu returned to Beijing from An. Guangxu ordered the body of Zhenfei to be salvaged from the well and buried in the Palace Maid Cemetery south of Enjizhuang Eunuch Cemetery outside Fuchengmen, with posthumous title as the princess. Imperial edict; "Moved the capital last year, the feeling be nasty under, ZhenFei can't follow her, namely martyrdom in the palace, its martyrdom is commendable. She paid tribute to the imperial concubine to show her gratitude. " China No.1 Historical Archives also has the following records in the archives of the Qing Dynasty: "On the fourth day of July in the twenty-seventh year of Guangxu, Princess Zhen was buried in Enjizhuang and passed through a camp." It can be seen that "Fei Fei" was written as "Zhen Guifei" to show respect. In fact, Zhen Fei was favored by Guangxu, not because she was particularly beautiful, but because she was lively and intelligent and understood the wishes of the emperor. According to historical records, when Guangxu chose empresses, the first thing he took a fancy to was Princess Zhen's sister Jin Fei, which shows that at least Princess Jin is more beautiful and outstanding than Princess Zhen. However, Jin Fei, who is honest and honest, does not please people and is indifferent to Guangxu, while Zhen Fei tries her best to conform to Guangxu's love. She pursues fashion. Besides greeting Empress Dowager Cixi and Empress Dowager Cixi, she often wears a suit of men's clothing when accompanying Guangxu. Her black hair is combed into a big braid at the back of her head. She wears a hat, flowers with two eyes, an arrow sleeve coat, green satin boots and a ribbon around her waist. Even Cixi liked her at first. Besides, Zhen's calligraphy and chess skills are comparable to Guangxu. Regarding the photo of Zhenfei, there was a "twin case" before, and it is difficult to distinguish between true and false. 1930 On May 3rd, The Palace Weekly published a photo called Portrait of Princess Zhen, in which a young woman had high cheekbones and big almond eyes. At that time, a maid-in-waiting of the Qing Dynasty, Lisa, was still alive.
At the same time, according to the textual research of Tang Hechen, consultant of the Palace Museum and eunuch of the Qing Dynasty, the woman in Portrait of Zhen Fei published by 1930 is not Zhen Fei, but the woman in Portrait of Zhen Guifei is the real Zhen Fei. And this photo is the one mentioned above that is now preserved in the history of the empire. Later, people found an identical bottom plate engraved with "Imperial concubine" from a large number of photos of the late Qing Dynasty collected in the Forbidden City. Moreover, by comparing the photos of Feifei's sister Jin Fei, it is found that the woman's face in the two photos is very close to other five senses. Therefore, the authenticity of the two photos can be clarified, and people will know the true face of the real flying. Here, by the way, clarify another fact. For a long time, people thought that Princess Zhen was jealous of Empress Dowager Cixi because she supported the reform and reform of Emperor Guangxu. Later, Empress Dowager Cixi returned to power, so she was claustrophobic, and then Eight-Nation Alliance attacked Beijing. Cixi killed her in an open caisson before she fled. The truth of the matter, however, is that Zhen Fei was arrogant and extravagant, colluding with the eunuchs in the DPRK to sell officials and titles, and took bribes from them. For example, a man named Lu Boyang gave Zhen Fei 42,000 gold, and Zhen Fei asked Guangxu for an official position of "Shanghai Daotai". After being known by the Governor of Liangjiang, he impeached and removed Lu Boyang, which caused many discussions in the ruling and opposition parties. Zhen Fei once fought for the position of "Sichuan Salt Law Road" for a man named Yu Ming. However, when Guangxu summoned the new official and let him go, she found that the man turned out to be a useless illiterate. These two things are recorded in Historical Records, so they are not empty words. When Cixi was informed, she ordered Guangxu to strictly handle this matter. First of all, it is taboo for the harem to collude with foreign officials and interfere with the administrative arrangements of employing people. Second, selling officials was originally the patent of Cixi. Of course, she won't allow others to get it. Guangxu deliberately sheltered Zhen Fei and angered Cixi. In order to settle the internal affairs, Guangxu had to demote Zhen Fei and Jin Fei to nobility. According to the rules of the palace, all concubines who violate the rules in the palace must be handed over to the queen for strict control, so Cixi kept the imperial concubine in an empty house north of the county government and west of the ancient philosophers' gate, and even Emperor Guangxu could not see her. Therefore, from 1894 to 10, Zhen Fei lost her personal freedom and could not participate in the later political reform, let alone die because she supported it.
