Military training is a military exercise conducted in China according to the requirements of the National Defense Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the Education Law of the People's Republic of China, the Military Service Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the National Defense Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Decision of the Central Committee of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Reform of the Education System.
Military training is the basic form for students to receive national defense education, an important measure to cultivate "four haves" talents, and an extremely effective means to train and reserve our army's reserve soldiers and reserve officers and strengthen national defense forces.
The purpose of military training is to improve students' political consciousness, stimulate patriotic enthusiasm, carry forward the spirit of revolutionary heroism, cultivate the spirit of perseverance and hard struggle, enhance the concept of national defense and organizational discipline, develop a good style of study and life, and master basic military knowledge and skills.
"History of Li Zhoubao" records: "Educating the country with Taoism is to teach six arts", which is the earliest written record of "military training for students" in China. Confucius, who was respected as an educator by later generations, even regarded the art of shooting defense as equally important as the education of rites and music in the teaching process. Confucius pointed out that "a good man can teach the people for seven years, and he can be brave", and "to fight without teaching the people is to abandon it" (The Analects of Confucius), and put military training and education in a high position.
Due to the implementation of the education of both civil and military skills, most of the students taught are both civil and military. For example, among Confucius' 3,000 disciples, there are 72 people who are both civil and military. At that time, people regarded the level of military skills as a sign of whether a person had talent or not. The so-called "shooting feet is wise" ("Mandarin Today").
