Cowhide can be divided into several layers.

1, full-thickness cowhide

The skinless cowhide is thick, about 4-5mm, and its surface maintains the original texture and natural disability of cowhide.

2, the first layer of skin

Leather is located in the outermost layer of cowhide surface, and the cortex is the most flexible, smooth and varied in thickness. The top leather includes grain leather, trimming leather and embossed leather. Among them, embossed cowhide is made of patterned panels (made of aluminum and copper) and pressed into various patterns on the leather surface after heating.

3. Double skin

Leather is located on the surface of cowhide-that is, near the fleshy layer, and may be cut into many layers. The leather surface is harder than the surface layer and has poor toughness. It is made by a series of processes such as coating or pasting, and the smoothness is related to the coating.

How to maintain the cowhide belt

1, avoid cowhide from damp, mildew and moth. In normal use, care should be taken not to contact oil stains and acidic and alkaline substances. In the usual cleaning process, adding neutral special mildew-removing bactericide can avoid mildew. In addition, in order to prevent mildew and moth-eaten, it should be cleaned before collection and then properly preserved;

2. When cleaning the cowhide belt, it is best to wipe it with a fine flannel. If you accidentally get rain or other stains, don't directly wipe with water and gasoline to avoid wrinkles on the leather surface. Instead, you should immediately dry it with a soft cloth, and then put it in a well-ventilated place to dry naturally.

3. If the cowhide belt is wrinkled due to water stains, it can be ironed with an iron of 60-70 degrees, and it is best to line it with a thin cotton cloth when ironing;

4. If the belt changes color, you can use leather polish, and it is forbidden to wipe it with leather shoe polish. When polishing leather, gently wipe the belt once or twice with the soft and dry touch of a little polishing agent. It is recommended to polish once every two to three months on average.

5. If the cowhide belt is broken or damaged in a large area, you should find a professional to repair it. If there is only a small damage, you can apply some egg white to the damaged part.

6. Cowhide belts are consumables, which will be damaged if used for a long time. Usually, regular wiping with special leather care agent can slow down the damage, but do not use alkaline detergent and shoe polish.
