The G20 Summit will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 4th to 5th, 20th16th.
The first meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors in 20 16 was held in Shanghai on February 27th, 20 16, which was the first high-level meeting held after China took over the presidency of G20 in 20 16.
G20 members include the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Canada, Russia, the European Union, Australia, China, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and South Korea. These countries account for about 85% of the world's gross national product, but their population accounts for nearly two-thirds of the world's total population. The proposal to establish the G20 was put forward by the finance ministers of seven western industrialized countries, including the United States1in Cologne, Germany, in June, 1999, with the aim of allowing relevant countries to have informal dialogue on international economic and monetary policies, so as to promote the stability of the international financial and monetary system. The G-20 is an informal dialogue mechanism within the framework of the Bretton Woods system, aiming at promoting the reform of the international financial system, laying a broad foundation for discussion and consultation on substantive issues, seeking cooperation and promoting the stability and sustained growth of the world economy.
