Does Chernobyl have an impact on China?
It is affecting China.

A significant increase in radioactivity was also observed in China, far from Wan Li. According to the analysis of monitoring data at that time, radioactive dust began to reach China about 1 week after the accident, and then the atmospheric radioactive dose increased obviously. Until about 1 month later, the concentration of some radionuclides is still much higher than the normal value.

However, although the Chernobyl nuclear accident had an observable impact on the radioactive environment in China, the impact was much smaller than that in the region where the nuclear power plant was located and in Eastern Europe.

The Chernobyl nuclear accident occurred on April 26th, 1986. The reactor of Unit 4 of Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded, and a large amount of radioactive materials were released into the atmosphere (the total radioactive dose released was 400 times that of Hiroshima atomic bomb), and then radioactive dust gradually spread to almost every corner of the world.

The biosphere and atmosphere of the earth are a circulatory system. Greenpeace collected eight seawater samples during research in Antarctica, and seven of them contained at least one piece of plastic or tiny debris in each liter of water.

Microfibers of clothes were also found in seawater samples. Among 9 snow samples, Greenpeace found that 7 snow samples contained detectable concentrations of chemicals PFAs (polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl substances, which are carcinogenic) or PFCs (perfluorocompounds). These chemicals were also found in newly fallen snow, which indicated that they were deposited from the atmosphere.
