Playing the lute: Russia won a long-lost victory, and a felon rushed to the front after being pardoned.

For the Russian army, this is a long-lost victory. According to the information released by the Russian Ministry of Defence on June 5438+03, after several months of fighting, Russian troops have captured Soledad, a major town in Donbass, eastern Ukraine.

A few months ago, the Ukrainian army launched a fierce counterattack. Russian troops lost a large area of land in eastern Kharkov and were forced to leave Hellson, the capital of Kherson State. Now, the Russian army has finally got rid of a series of passivity and reversed the battlefield situation with an offensive attitude.

So that CNN commented that "this is the first time that Moscow has won a major victory in several months." Russian media boasted that this was the biggest defeat of the Ukrainian army after the battle of upor in Mali.

The fighting was fierce. Watching the video, a large number of houses were blown into ruins, and there were even reports that "the whole town was full of corpses".

According to the Russian military, in the past three days of fighting alone, the Russian army has eliminated more than 700 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed more than 300 pieces of Ukrainian military equipment. Russian airborne troops raided Ukrainian positions and blocked this important town from north to south, while Russian planes and artillery carried out a "concentrated attack" on Ukrainian troops.

However, in the battle to capture Soledad, the Russian "Wagner" private military group played the most crucial role. This private military armed force, well-equipped and fierce, including many felons who were pardoned to the front, invaded Soledad at any cost.

Soledad has a small population, about 1 10,000 before the war, but it is the transportation hub of Wudong. The most famous salt mines once provided about 90% of the salt in Ukraine. The salt mine tunnel is 200 kilometers long and can station troops and reserve materials. During World War II, it was the battlefield of military strategists. Now the soldiers of Wagner Group are cleaning up the remaining enemies in the tunnel.

The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the capture of Soledad is a "key step" for the Russian army to attack Donetsk, which can cut off the supply route of Ukrainian troops in Bakhmut, thus blocking and surrounding the remaining Ukrainian troops. This is also the most intense conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The Ukrainian army denied the Russian victory and believed that the fighting was still in full swing. On the evening of 12, Ukrainian president Zelensky also stressed that the 77th and 46th air brigades of the Ukrainian army were still holding their ground. He called Soledad and Bakhmut "the number one problem" and stressed the need to use all necessary means to ensure the ammunition and other needs of the frontline troops.

But CNN interviews also showed that some Ukrainian soldiers also fell into despair.

/kloc-On the evening of 0/2, a Ukrainian soldier told CNN on the phone that although they still had some ammunition, they had no food and water, and many comrades were injured. He said on the phone: "We tried to evacuate ourselves, but the orcs (a derogatory term for the Russian army in Ukraine) were already there. The last evacuation was three days ago, and our orders were to hold out until the end. If we didn't cancel the order today, we probably wouldn't have time to leave. Now we are just abandoned ... "

Yesterday, I chatted with some friends about the situation in Ukraine and guessed the final outcome. In my opinion, there are roughly three possibilities.

The first possibility is that the Ukrainian army launched a fierce counterattack to drive the Russian army out of eastern Ukraine and even out of Crimea.

However, this possibility is very small, regardless of whether the Ukrainian army has such combat effectiveness. More importantly, Russia is a big country and a nuclear power after all. How can it sit back and watch such a fiasco?

The second possibility is that after the Russian army changed coaches, it launched a large-scale attack, completely reversed the battlefield situation, even went all out to the west, approached Kiev, and even won Kiev, forcing Ukraine to sign an alliance under the city.

However, this possibility is still very small. What was not done in the first three months, with the current combat effectiveness and morale of the Russian-Ukrainian army, it is very difficult for the Russian army to do it unless it is fully mobilized to prepare for war. However, there is the whole west behind the Ukrainian army, and the west will not sit idly by and watch the Ukrainian army defeat.

The third possibility is a fierce tug-of-war between the two sides. Today, Ukrainian troops will recapture a major town, and tomorrow, Russian troops will occupy an important place. Maybe one side will take the initiative for a certain period of time, but it is impossible to completely defeat and expel the other side.

This is what I think is the most likely outcome. The two sides will eventually cease fire on the spot, but until they can't move, neither side will accept the reality and will drive more soldiers to start strangulation and be strangled at the same time.

Donetsk is a battlefield meat grinder. But it is undeniable that taking Soledad now will greatly boost the morale of the Russian army and make the strangulation even more tragic.

Looking at satellite pictures, Soledad before the war should be a quiet and beautiful eastern European town; But after the Soledad war, everything was destroyed, and the heavy snow could not cover up the ferocity and bloodiness.

Poor Wudong riverside bones, how many people dream of spring. This terrible war.
